International Student Cell
Preamble: It was observed that many foreign students are learning or doing basic course of ayurved and yoga in their countries or getting knowledge about ayurved through internet or online courses.
However for practical knowledge of this age old science and to learn ayurved in depth thoroughly at its roots, they prefer to come to India. Considering the demand from International students for hands on training in Ayurved and to observe how the patients are treated practically as well as to get the detailed knowledge of ayurvedic herbs and formulation, Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Ayurved and Research Center, Pimpri, Pune established an International Student Cell to look after needs of International Students and Global demands.
This cell is established in 2015. As a first step of this activity, a MOU was signed between Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidya Prastishtan Society, Pune and International Academy of Ayurved, Pune India for the duration of 3 years on 1st December 2015 and renewed for 5 years on 2nd May 2019.
We received international students in group of from USA, Brazil, Chile, Srilanka, Switzerland countries in last 5 years, details are as follows:
1. Dancing Shiva Yoga and Ayurved Academy, LA, USA in 2014 (12 students), 2015 (07 students)
2. Suddha Dharma Mandal, Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2015 (17 students), 2016 (22 students), 2017 (15 students), 2018 (14 students)
3. Ayurvastu center, Chile of Vaidya Mauricio Leon in 2018 (10 students)
4. Ayush Longevity Pvt. Ltd. And Institute of Ayurveda and Ceylon Aesthtic, Srilanka in 2018 (8 students)
5. Maharishi Ayurved Institute, Switzerland in 2019 (6 students)
All the students from different counties have appreciated the Faculty as well as facilities available for teaching and learning in institute.
Kayachikitsa Department has organized International Conference on Ayurved on 14th and 15th January 2018 with the theme of “Disease free society”. 35 international participants attended this conference.
We received 1 student from Nigeria, who cleared NEET and has taken admission for BAMS course in the year 2018-2019.
Dr. Gunvant Yeola ( Principal & Professor) has been appointed as in charge of International student cell and he is always taking care of need of foreign students. Faculties of each department are also trained and taking efforts to achieve the goal and fulfill the expectations of foreign students.
We have started 4 short term certificate courses for foreign students from 2018-2019 which are approved by Board of Management of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University).
